Real Madrid Cruise to 3-0 Win at Valencia

Full-time

Real Madrid left Mestalla with a convincing 3-0 La Liga win over Valencia, turning a strong statistical advantage into three well-spaced goals. Federico Valverde opened the scoring in the 28th minute, Arda Güler doubled the lead eight minutes later, and Kylian Mbappé completed the result in the 75th minute.

The away side were 2-0 ahead at the interval and added the only goal of the second half. Valencia finished with 10 players after José Gayà was sent off in the 79th minute for a professional last-man foul.

Madrid set the terms

The numbers underline the scale of Real Madrid’s control. They had 68% possession, completed 565 of 623 passes at a 91% success rate, and registered 135 attacks to Valencia’s 59. Their 70 dangerous attacks were more than four times Valencia’s 15.

That territorial and technical superiority translated into a persistent threat around the home penalty area. Real Madrid attempted 19 shots, with 11 on target, compared with Valencia’s four attempts and two on target. Twelve of Madrid’s shots came from inside the box, while they created six big chances and missed four of them.

Valencia goalkeeper Stole Dimitrievski made eight saves, the highest individual total reflected in the match statistics, as Real Madrid continued to test the home defence beyond the three goals they scored.

Goals decide the first half

The opening breakthrough arrived on 28 minutes. Valverde struck with his right foot to put Real Madrid ahead. Eight minutes later, Güler also finished with his right foot, converting an opportunity created by Jude Bellingham to establish a two-goal cushion before half-time.

Those goals separated the teams in a first period that ended 0-2. They also gave Real Madrid a platform from which to manage the game while continuing to generate attacking volume.

Valencia made their first change at the start of the second half, with Luis Rioja replacing Justin de Haas, and made further substitutions at 59, 63 and 82 minutes. However, the final scoreline remained beyond reach as the visitors maintained their command of the ball and the chance count.

Güler’s decisive contribution

Güler was named Player of the Match with a rating of 9.01. His impact was clear in the key moments: he scored Real Madrid’s second goal on 36 minutes and then assisted Mbappé’s third on 75 minutes.

Mbappé’s right-footed finish put the game at 0-3, and Güler was replaced by Eduardo Camavinga in the 84th minute after his influential display. Valverde, who scored the opener, received a 7.77 rating, while Dean Huijsen earned 7.83 and Bellingham 7.66.

Real Madrid’s productivity was also evident in the creative figures: 14 key passes to Valencia’s two, five accurate crosses to one, and 10 successful dribbles from 18 attempts. Valencia recorded three successful dribbles from seven attempts.

Discipline and the closing stages

The match featured four yellow cards for Valencia and three for Real Madrid. Valencia committed 26 fouls, compared with six by Real Madrid, and consequently faced 26 free kicks to their own six.

Gayà’s red card came four minutes after Mbappé’s goal and reduced Valencia to 10 for the final stages. Real Madrid then made five substitutions in total, including three in the 84th minute and two in stoppage time.

The final whistle confirmed a complete away performance: three goals, a clean sheet, control of possession and a clear edge in the match’s attacking indicators. For Valencia, a difficult night at home ended without a goal and with the added setback of a late dismissal.
